Joe & Carol moved up here to the WA state Olympic peninsula from Sandy OR.
They own a couple nice Skagit boats, including the Pink Panther pictured here that Carol bought Joe for his birthday (match that sports fans, the wife surprises you with a boat!).
Since they like putting around at slow speeds with the grandkids much of the time, the Bearcat 55 really fit the bill. Of course she (the Bearcat) can hike up her skirt and cruise in the 20's when desired. Joe is an ex-Harley mechanic, so it's no sweat to perform the maintenance, which he enjoys. Joe just loves this motor, he always says sip sip sip.
One pic is on Lake Crescent near Port Angeles, the other is from Mason Lake.
Aft view of the Bearcat 55 while showing off the sights at Mason Lake. Joe is smiling because he ran that boat for hours this day and barely used any fuel. He left and returned connected to the same six gallon tank, true story as I was there!
Here's a port aft view of Joe putting along enjoying Lake Crescent. This is where the Homelite 55 really shines, notice there is NO SMOKE nor OIL SLICK. You can't have a better period-correct and environmentally correct outboard for your classic glass boat. Joe always says sip sip sip too. He works at www.islandboatshop.com restoring vintage fiberglass boats with Marty Loken.
